Is it possible to trade ETFS on tastyworks?
One of the more distinctive aspects of tastyworks is its pricing, especially when it comes to options trading. To begin, tastyworks, like most brokers, charges no commissions on stock and ETF trades.
However, it’s when it comes to options that things get interesting. On the surface, tastyworks’ regular $1.00 per contract options commission may appear to be a bit excessive. After all, several competitors’ per-contract fees range from $0.50 to $0.75. However, there are two significant differences:
- Only commissions on initial transactions are charged by tastyworks. All options trades that are closed (when you exit a position) are free. When compared to most brokers, who charge commissions on both sides of a trade, this effectively cuts the commission structure in half.
- The commissions at tastyworks are capped at $10 per leg. To put it another way, if you buy 100 contracts of a particular call option, your commission will be merely $10. The maximum commission you’ll pay on a two-legged deal (a vertical spread, for example) is $20, regardless of how many contracts are involved.
The upshot is that tastyworks’ pricing is especially beneficial for option traders who deal in big volumes of contracts on a regular basis.
It’s also worth noting that tastyworks’ platform is solely designed for trading stocks, options, and futures. (It’s worth noting that futures have their own commission structure, which is cheaper than that of most competitors.) As a result, mutual fund trades have no pricing.

Is it possible for me to trade multiple Emini contracts?
You can theoretically trade as many E-mini contracts as your account balance permits. You can trade more contracts with less money because E-mini contracts are traded on margin ($500/contract). If you have $3,500 in your account, you could theoretically trade seven contracts ($500 multiplied by seven = $3,500). However, we would advise against doing so because you would be putting yourself in grave danger.
