To enhance prostate cancer growth, JNK/Slug signaling is regulated by juxtaposition with another zinc finger protein 155. JNK is also becoming known as a key regulator of tumor initiation50,56. In conclusion, cancer/cell type-specific variations, the tumor microenvironment, and interaction with other signaling pathways are likely to influence JNK’s tumor suppressive or oncogenic activity.
